Missions

Missions at St. Andrews is more than just a “Mission Team”. Missions at St. Andrews is shared among all ages, all committees, and all members. The Theology of Christian Mission as defined by Jeremy Basset in A Mission Journey: A Handbook for Volunteers says:

Our God is a missionary God; the Bible is a missionary document; the agent of God’s mission is the Holy Spirit; the partner with this Spirit is the called-out community, the Church of Jesus Christ; and the work of this community of Christ-followers is to facilitate the coming of the kingdom of God in ways consistent with who Jesus is and what Jesus did.

Often those who serve in mission say, “Our work is to share the love of Christ in ways that make a Christian difference.” Current day participants in mission seem to echo the relational enthusiasm and commitment of the early disciples to share Jesus with a world in need.
